Farnsleigh Road Closed Beginning July 14

Van Aken District Road Closed for Two Weeks

July 10, 2014 - Farnsleigh Road will be closed from Winslow Road to Chagrin Boulevard beginning Monday, July 14 for two weeks. Detour signs will be posted. Expect delays while travelling through the area.


Shaker Schools and City Collaborate to House Learning Center

City provides space in Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building

June 9, 2014 - The Shaker Heights City School District and the City of Shaker Heights join forces with funders and community groups to create a center for digital learning and family engagement, to open in the 2014-15 school year.


Shaker Heights Arts & Music Festival Returns June 21 & 22

June 2, 2014 - The Shaker Heights Arts & Music Festival, presented by RMS Corporations, promises a weekend packed with great food, beer and wine, a juried art show, phenomenal musical entertainment and activities for children. Free admission.

The Festival is located on Farnsleigh between Warrensville Center and Van Aken, Farnsleigh Road will be closed to through traffic from Thursday, June 19 through Sunday, June 22.


Update - Van Aken District Roadwork Likely to Cause Traffic Delays

Work postponed to Tuesday, May 27; Chagrin narrowed to two lanes

May 27, 2014 - Roadwork to relocate Farnsleigh Road started last week, but encountered obstacles underground that caused postponement of the anticipated narrowing of traffic into a single lane in each direction on Chagrin between Farnsleigh and Warrensville Center Road. Cuyahoga County, which is coordinating the project, predicts that this phase of work will now last through Friday, May 30.
