County program enables residents to receive emergency notifications
August 27, 2014: Shaker Heights has joined seven other cities in Cuyahoga County’s ReadyNotify mass notification system. The City will use ReadyNotify to deliver important information to the public regarding emergencies and safety situations as well as when emergencies require closing of city buildings. City to Hire Police Officers (Lateral Entry)
August 6, 2014: The City of Shaker Heights is hiring Police Officers through a lateral entry process, limiting the pool of applicants to the first 50 completed application packets received from trained and experienced police officers from other Ohio law enforcement agencies. This process reduces outside training time and puts experienced police officers to work as quickly as possible. All Police Officer positions are Civil Service appointments and participate in the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund.Read more...
