2nd Annual Preservation Month Photo Contest - Vote Now for People's Choice Winner
Dateline: 4/15/14 - Earlier this year, the Shaker Heights Landmark Commission invited photographers to enter the 2014 Shaker Heights Preservation Month Photo Contest. The contest was created in honor of National Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May by historic preservation organizations across the country. Eighty-one (81) entries were submitted, and on May 1, the Landmark Commission will announce winners in the following categories: homes/buildings, landscape/nature, street/sidewalk scenes, architectural elements and sundry. Now, it is your turn to vote! We have created a special "People's Choice" category so that you may select a winner as well. Voting will close Sunday, April 27 at midnight. Vote now

Tower East Office Building Listed on National Register of Historic Places
Dateline: 3/18/14 - The architectural significance of Tower East, the 12- story office building located at 20600 Chagrin Boulevard, has now been recognized through its official listing on the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places. Designed by master architect Walter Gropius and built in 1968, it is the only building by the famed architect in Ohio and the first constructed between New York and Chicago.Read more...
