Arthritis Exercise
In cooperation with Judson Wellness Center

Ongoing recreational exercise program taught by Arthritis Foundation certified instructors. Includes range-of-motion, strength, endurance, weight bearing, relaxation, practical tips, and activities to promote self-care. Hand weights, bands, and participant manual included.

Adult Basketball Pick Up
(Ages 21+)

Enjoy exercise and friendly competition after a hard day's work. Players must have Thornton Park ID card (included in fee) and complete registration packet, to be presented to supervisors at first session. No phone-in registrations accepted. This is a 6 week program.

Body Sculpting

This one-hour cardiovascular strength training class shapes and tones the entire body and fights osteoporosis. No dancing, jumping or jazzing... just results! Bring a set of 5-lb. dumbbells (each), and exercise mat, a water bottle and stretch band to class. Appropriate for all fitness levels. Taught by certified instructor. Arthritis Foundation in cooperation with Judson Wellness Center

Emphasizes range-of-motion and endurance exercises effective for the body’s joints. Includes access to warm water therapy pool during open swim, use of strength training equipment (with doctor’s permission), hot tub and numerous land exercise classes. Towels provided. Ongoing. 2010 Baseball: Shaker Youth Baseball League, Inc. (SYBL)

SYBL is a recreational summer program for Shaker Heights School District residents currently in grades 3-10 (Child must not turn 17 before August 1, 2010). Season runs May through July. Evaluations for team placement are held in April. Special requests for team placement cannot be granted. Phone registration not accepted. Note: Financial assistance is available to qualifying persons. Participants must pay both a league fee and a field maintenance fee.

Field Maintenance Fee: $25. Fee payable to City of Shaker Heights.

In accordance with policy, all managers and coaches must agree to a confidential background check and finger printing. Coaching clinics are provided to support coaching quality. Basketball: Girls

Grades 4-6. Girls interested in playing basketball should contact James Garrett at 216-491-2599. Programs include, travel, instruction and recreation.

Swimming: Open/Family Swim

Children age 14 and  younger must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a lock for your locker but leave valuables at home. Shaker residents only. Family consists of mother/father/sister/brother. Pool pass available for all open and lap swims: $35.00. Shaker residents only.
