Ice Arena

Thornton Park Ice Arena is home ice for the Shaker Figure Skating Club, the Shaker Heights High School hockey team and Shaker Youth Hockey Association. Over the years, many exceptional skaters have won medals in regional and national competitions. The hockey teams have been frequent tournament champions.

The ice arena closed
Monday, May 24 for the installation of new compressors. Work is scheduled for completion in early August. For two weeks following installation, the system will be tested, staff will be trained, and the ice surface will be installed. The arena will re-open for skating on Monday, August 16.
