Become a Pool Passholder:

• Passes on sale now!
• Season passholders receive admission to general swimming, lap swims, discounts on learn-to-swim classes. 
• Proof of residency required when purchasing season passes.
• Family pass includes children under age 18.
• Individual passes available for nannies with proof of employment.
• All passholders receive color-coded wristband at gate before entering pool area.
• Sorry, no season pass refunds. 

Pool Use Rules & Regs:

• Daily operating hours subject to change as necessary;
• Pool may close due to cold or inclement weather or when temperature is below 65º (lap swimming may still be available);
• Regulation swimwear required;
• Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices;
• As of Wednesday, June 17, 5 ft. section available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon;
• Consideration for those taking lessons in adjacent sections is appreciated;
• Pool closes Fridays at 6:00 PM and reopens at 6:30 PM (June 19-August 14) for lap swimmers and families only;
• 15-minute rest periods every hour during open swim, 12:00 to 7:00 PM;
• During rest periods, adults 18+ may swim laps and children 3 years and under, accompanied by an adult, may swim in 3-ft. section;
• Pool management determines rest periods based on pool attendance.

Pool Birthday Parties

Hold your child's birthday party at Thornton Park pool! A 2-hour birthday package includes cake, ice cream cups, balloons, paper products, drinks and treat bags for all of the children. Package fees include general admission to the pool and must be paid in full one week prior to party. A $50 deposit is required at the time of booking.

Pool Rental

The pool may be reserved by private groups Mondays through Sundays from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Rental rates are $225 for 1-100 guests with an additional $50 for each 1-100 additional guests. For reservations, please call Thornton Park at 216-491-1295.

Individualized (Private) Swimming Lessons
Lessons are taught by the lifeguards/instructors. Registration is available all summer. Once you have registered, the pool manager will contact you with the names of available instructors. If you have a preferred instructor, please contact the pool manager and they will put you in touch with the instructor.

Upon registration, you may purchase as many lessons as you choose. At the time of registration you will receive individual coupons for the number of lessons you have purchased.

At the time of the lesson you must present the coupon to the instructor in order for him/her to get paid. The lessons are scheduled by you and the chosen instructor.

Fees: $15/half hour/participant

Water Polo - Non-instructional, drop-in water polo. No water polo skills necessary. All participants must possess excellent swimming skills and have the ability to tread water for an extended period of time. Pick-up, beginner level, recreational water polo offered in the 12-foot section of the main pool when a lifeguard is on duty. Passholders receive priority.
