See regional map. See map of Shaker Heights.
The primary concentrations of commercially zoned property are:
- Van Aken/Warrensville: A master plan is in the works for this 60-acre commercial district to redevelop it into an extraordinary and vibrant mixed-use town center district, equal to any in the United States. The district is the terminus of a major light rail line, which runs west eight miles to downtown Cleveland, and is one of the five busiest crossroads in greater Cleveland.
- Shaker Town Center at Chagrin and Lee: This area includes a broad mix of commercial uses, civic buildings, a transit station, and a variety of housing nearby. Exciting redevelopment efforts are complete or underway, including 170+ new housing units, façade improvements at the 120,000 square foot shopping center, street improvements, public art, a new fire house, and complete redevelopment of a property that currently has 85,000 square feet of retail space.
