The Finance Department develops and maintains the City's annual operating and capital budgets and acts as its purchasing agent. 

Shaker Heights has a long tradition of prudent fiscal management, allowing it to maximize investment opportunities. 

The department has been recognized nine times by the Government Finance Officers Association for achieving the “highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.”
