The Police Department is an internationally accredited law enforcement agency whose members are committed to the service and protection of all persons and property throughout the City.

If you should become a victim of crime, please refer to Your Rights and Responsibilities as a Crime Victim provided by the Ohio Attorney General's office.

The Police Department is dedicated to continuous improvement and ongoing community relations through education and training of both its officers and its citizens.

You may download or complete an application online under the "Citizens Police Academy" page or contact the office of the Chief of Police (216-491-1240) to have one mailed to you. If you complete an application online, save it to your computer, and return via to Scott.Lee@shakeronline.com. Applicants must live or work in the City of Shaker Heights.
