Yes, financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Assistance is available for programs such as summer camp, learn to swim, etc. Assistance cannot be used for one-on-one or personal programming such as private lessons. Call 216-491-1295 for more information.
Our program brochure is published three times annually; Spring/Summer, fall and winter. It is mailed directly to residential addresses within the Shaker Public School District. It is also available online. This brochure lists all programs offered through the Shaker Heights Recreation Department.
First time registrations must be done in person. Afterwards, registrations can be done in person at Thornton Park or the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building, over the phone by calling 216-491-1295 or 216-491-1360, by fax 216-991-4219, mailed in with a registration form and check to 3301 Warrensville Center Road, or online at shakeronline.com using our interactive brochure.
Yes, swim lessons are offered through the American Red Cross. Programs are outlined in the recreation brochure and are based on skill level. Skills will be assessed the first day of class. Private swim lessons are available year-round.
