Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for the City’s day-to-day operations, works closely with the Mayor and City Council, participates in Council and committee meetings and public hearings, and serves as the Clerk of Council. Reviews departmental operating and capital budgets and approves hiring of personnel, expenditure of City funds and use of City facilities.

Change in Traffic Pattern on Woodbury Road Effective August 24

Dateline: August 13, 2015 - Effective August 24, 2015, the traffic pattern on Woodbury Road will change to a northbound, one-way direction during the hours of 8-9:30 am and 2:30-4 pm, Monday-Friday, during the school year. 


Crowdfunding Campaign Launches to Raise Funds for Public Art Project in Shaker Heights

Dateline: August 3, 2015 - A group of community volunteers have launched Pocket Park Art in Shaker Heights, a crowd-funding campaign to raise $16,000 for a public art sculpture or mural that will celebrate the Centennial of the Shaker Heights Fire Department and the 10-year anniversary of the Fire House located at 17000 Chagrin Blvd. The City will help facilitate the project, which will be located in the pocket park just west of the Fire House. Money raised by the campaign will cover the cost of materials, design and construction, and a community celebration. The project will incorporate historical elements from the past century of firefighting and will be installed by summer 2016, the year of the Centennial.


Entrepreneurs Compete for $20,000 in Shaker Heights Win-Win Business Challenge

Local business competition enables expanding small businesses to fill available space in Chagrin-Lee area

Dateline: July 27, 2015 - Local entrepreneurs seeking storefront space can apply now to compete in the Win-Win Business Challenge, a small business education program and grant competition that will help drive development in the Chagrin-Lee area of Shaker Heights. A total of $20,000 in grant funding – a combined $10,000 from the City of Shaker Heights and $10,000 from Huntington Bank – will be awarded to the winner(s) for purchases and capital improvements to an office or retail space in the Chagrin-Lee area.
