The City installs ($20 fee) and maintains the system, which subscribers may lease for $15 a month, payable quarterly ($45). Units are assigned based on priorities relating to the resident’s need. A limited number of units is available at no cost to individuals whose incomes qualify under a Community Development Block Grant.

Meals on Wheels: available for those who cannot shop or cook for themselves. There is no age requirement. The service is provided for residents of Shaker Heights, University Heights, Beachwood and surrounding areas. A hot lunch and light supper are delivered by volunteers on weekdays between 12:00 Noon and 1:00 PM. Special diets are available. This is NOT a federally subsidized program. For more information, call 216-991-6376.
