[ARCHIVED] Rotary Club to Honor Firefighter & Police Officer of the Year

The Rotary Club of the Heights of Greater Cleveland (formerly Rotary Club of Shaker Heights) will honor its 2018 Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year on Wednesday, October 16. Rotary President Adam Davis will lead the awards program. Members John Sobotincic and Maria Kaiser will present the awards to Patrol Officer Martin E. Dunn (Police) and Lieutenant Thomas Narowitz (Fire). Honorees will receive a plaque for their service, as well as a monetary gift in the presence of guests and City officials, including Mayor David E. Weiss and members of City Council.

The awards have been presented for more than 20 years, with the first being presented to James Yarcusko (police) and Dean Charvat (fire) in 1992.

Who:  The Rotary Club of the Heights of Greater Cleveland joined by the City of Shaker Heights

 Police Chief Jeffrey DeMuth and Fire Chief Patrick Sweeney will represent both service
 organizations.

What:   Annual presentation of awards to the City of Shaker Heights 2018 Firefighter &
            Police Officer of the Year.

Where: Shaker Heights Fire House, 17000 Chagrin Blvd.

When:  Wednesday, October 16. Breakfast reception: 8 am; Ceremony: 8:30 am

Why:    To honor the exemplary service provided to our community by this year’s honorees, and to
            recognize the ongoing commitment of all of the City’s firefighters and police officers who
            protect and serve the residents of the City of Shaker Heights.
