(Updated May 28, 2020) The project is mostly complete. NEORSD, which is managing the project, is now working with First Energy to install lighting around the pedestrian bridge and walkway. Anticipated opening of the bridge/walkway is mid-to-late June.
(Posted July 9, 2019) As you enjoy fall around the Shaker Lakes, remember to stay off the mud flats that have formed on Green Lake (a.k.a. the Duck Pond). They are dangerous and you will sink in the mud, which could require a rescue operation. The lakes have been drained as part of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s (NEORSD) $2.3 million project to upgrade the dams on the Shaker Lakes. Work on the Green Lake dam is due to be completed next year. Residents can look forward to a new walkway at Green Lake, similar to the one on Brook Road at Lower Lake.
