Huntington Rd. Sewer Project

Update (January 16): The contractor will be working in the intersection of Huntington / Onaway on Friday, January 17 and Monday, January 20. The intersection will be closed for safety reasons. Motorists should seek alternate routes.

Update (December 2): Work on the intersection of Huntington and Southington roads will be completed today. The intersection will re-open Tuesday, December 3. The contractor will be working on Huntington Road, between Southington and Onaway, for the next four to six weeks. Local access only.

Update (November 22): The intersection at Huntington and Southington roads will be completely closed for ongoing sewer work from Monday, November 25 through Wednesday, November 27. It will reopen for the long Thanksgiving weekend. It will be closed again from Monday, December 2 through Wednesday, December 4. Please avoid the area while the intersection is closed. If you have questions, contact Jimmy Sheehan at Public Works, 491-1490.

Next week, the City will start a major sewer project on Huntington Rd. The work will begin at the intersection of Huntington and South Woodland roads. and then proceed down Huntington Rd. to Onaway Rd. There will be open excavations in the street, as the City works to replace and upgrade the existing sanitary sewer system. Weather permitting, the project is anticipated to be completed in February 2020. 

Please note:

  • There will be no on-street parking during work hours (7 am to 6 pm). 
  • It is likely the roadway will be restricted to one lane for the duration of the project and will be local access only. 
  • Please follow all traffic notices as they are posted, including detours.
