[ARCHIVED] ShakeRecycles Has Been Discontinued

City of Shaker Heights logo

Starting in January, the City will no longer offer the ShakeRecycles mobile app. The decision to eliminate ShakeRecycles was made because the City’s new website can provide most of the features offered by the app. In addition, changes to recycling guidelines have made the Waste Wizard feature on the app obsolete.

Here’s where to find the features previously provided by ShakeRecycles:

Reminders: Reminders for trash delays and recycling events will be published in City ENews, on the City’s website, and on the City’s social media channels. Learn how to subscribe to ENews and follow us on social media.

iCalendar: Residents can automatically import recycling events  and holiday trash delays into their personal electronic calendar application by subscribing to our iCalendar feeds (select Recycling Events and/or Holiday Trash Delays).

Collection Calendar: Visit Trash-Pick Up Schedule to find your collection day. (Consider setting an alert on your phone’s calendar app.)

Missed Trash/Recycling Pick-Up: There are three ways to report a missed trash and/or recycling pick-up: (1) Use the Report a Collection Problem form; (2) email Public Works at public.works@shakeronline.com; or (3) call 216-491-1490.

Waste Wizard: For questions about recycling, please use the “What do I do with?” database at CuyahogaRecycles.org. This database is maintained by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District and provides the most up-to-date information.
