John Potts Hired as Director of Finance

Mayor David Weiss announced that John Potts has been hired as Director of Finance. Potts brings more than 20 years of experience to the City, most recently as Vice President of Audit Services with SITE Centers Corp. (formerly DDR Corp.). Potts begins his term as Director of Finance on January 13.

Potts has extensive experience with audit, management, risk management and financial analysis in the private sector. In addition to his work for SITE Centers Corp., Potts has served as Director of Internal Audit and Financial Analysis for the Boykin Lodging Company; as Manager of Corporate Strategic Planning and Reporting for Forest City Enterprises; and as a Manager with Deloitte & Touche.

As a resident, John also has a strong commitment to Shaker Heights.”

Potts earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance. He is currently the Board President for the Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development in Shaker Heights.

Potts lives in the Malvern neighborhood with his wife and daughter who attends Onaway Elementary School.
