[ARCHIVED] Census 2020: Be Counted!

Census-2020 logo

The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will cease all counting efforts (internet, mail, phone, and the crucial door-to-door count) on September 30, instead of on October 31 as previously announced. Unfortunately, 40 percent of households have yet to respond, including many households of historically underrepresented groups. This undercount will dramatically impact the allocation of federal funding for the next 10 years, including monies that we get right here in Shaker Heights (for the Shaker Schools free and reduced lunch program, for example).

If your household has yet to respond to the 2020 Census, please do so today. Go to https://my2020census.gov/ Reminder: Only one response per household is required.

The Census Bureau has resumed door-to-door visits to try and reach those who have yet to respond to the Census. Social distancing and safety protocols will be followed, including the wearing of face masks, practicing hand hygiene, and conducting interviews outside as much as possible or practical.
