Northeast Quadrant Sewer Program

Graphic for construction update notice

Since 2018, the City has been working on sewers in the Mercer neighborhood, specifically on streets in the area between Warrensville Center Road, Shaker Boulevard, Sulgrave Road and Fairmount Boulevard. The general scope of work includes inspecting sewer mains and laterals and making spot repairs as necessary. Once this inspection/repair work is complete, a cured in place pipe (CIPP) liner will be installed in the sanitary sewer main.

Updated August 2: In the coming weeks, the City will resume the installation of cured in place pipe after suspending the program because of COVID-19. Crews will finish the lining work on Douglas and Calverton roads, before moving to other locations in the Mercer neighborhood.

Status as of March 2: A contractor is working on Claythorne Road making spot repairs to the mains. Weather permitting and barring any unforeseen conditions, this work will be done by Thursday, March 5. The street is accessible for local traffic only.  In addition, preparatory work for installation of the CIPP liner is also happening on Douglas and Calverton roads.
