[ARCHIVED] Rotary Club to Honor Police Officers & Firefighters of the Year for 2019 and 2020

The Rotary Club of the Heights of Greater Cleveland will honor its 2019 and 2020 Firefighters and Police Officers of the Year on Wednesday, October 27. Rotary President Adam Davis and member John Sobotincic will lead the awards program. Members of the Rotary Club will present the awards to Sergeant Laura A. Clague and Lieutenant Timothy J. Kohanski (Police); and Firefighters Timothy Haas and Scott Zenz. Honorees will receive a plaque for their service, as well as a monetary gift in the presence of guests and City officials, including Mayor David E. Weiss and members of City Council. 

The awards have been presented for more than 20 years, with the first being presented to James Yarcusko (police) and Dean Charvat (fire) in 1992.

Who: The Rotary Club of the Heights of Greater Cleveland; Police Chief Jeffrey DeMuth and Fire Chief Patrick Sweeney will represent both service organizations.

What:  Annual presentation of awards to the City of Shaker Heights 2019 and 2020 Firefighters & Police Officers of the Year. 

Where: Shaker Heights Fire House, 17000 Chagrin Blvd.

When: Wednesday, October 27. Breakfast reception: 8am; Ceremony: 8:30am

Why: To honor the exemplary service provided to our community by the honorees, and to recognize the ongoing commitment of all of the City’s firefighters and police officers who protect and serve the residents of the City of Shaker Heights.
