Mayor David Weiss announced that Ann McGuire has been appointed the City’s new Director of Communications and Marketing. McGuire brings more than 25 years of experience to the City, most recently as Director of Marketing and Communications for Ursuline College. McGuire begins her term as Director of Communications and Marketing on May 31.
McGuire has extensive experience in public relations, marketing and communications. In addition to her role at Ursuline College, she has served as Director of Communications at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Communications Manager for University Hospitals. She has also worked locally as a freelance writer, including for the Shaker Heights City School District.
“We are pleased to welcome Ann to the City to oversee our Communications and Marketing Department,” says Mayor Weiss. “She not only brings a wealth of experience to the City, but has a strong understanding of – and passion for – our community.”
McGuire is a former longtime resident of Shaker Heights. She and her husband, Patrick Leahy, raised their children in the City’s Lomond neighborhood. They retain strong ties to the community, including as members of the Church of St. Dominic.
McGuire holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine.
