In mid-January, approximately 3,000 Shaker Heights households will be mailed a community attitude survey commissioned by the City. The survey, from independent research firm ETC Institute, is being conducted to gather input on Shaker Heights programs and services. A letter from Mayor David E. Weiss and a postage-paid return envelope accompany each survey.
“I strongly encourage residents who receive the survey to take a few minutes to respond,” said Weiss. “The valuable insights gained will inform City Council and the City administration as we make decisions that impact the programs and services provided to our residents.”
ETC is surveying a random sample of the City’s households that is representative of the entire population in terms of demographics and neighborhood distribution. While each residential address had an equal chance of being selected, only 3,000 of the City’s approximately 12,500 households were selected to participate.
ETC will present its findings to City Council in a public meeting this spring.
