Dear Residents,
In this video message, I want to share some thoughts about the importance of June 19th. On this day, we honor Juneteenth, the day we commemorate the end of slavery in America. This day provides us an opportunity to reflect on this important moment in our history. In addition, in the links below, you'll find information on the Karamu House's production of "Freedom on Juneteenth," as well as a link to the National Museum of African American History & Culture, both of which I mention in the video.
Also, for residents who prefer to read my remarks, I have once again provided a link to the transcript.
Warm regards,
David Weiss
Mayor
