COVID-19 Testing, Vaccine InformationTesting InformationFebruary dates for COVID-19 testing are now available for individuals age two and older. Testing takes place at the Shaker Heights Fire Station, 17000 Chagrin Blvd. Walk up or drive up. Preregistration is required. Vaccine InformationResidents eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1A or 1B are encouraged to sign up to be notified of vaccine clinics by the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Check the Vaccine Information section frequently on the City's website for the latest updates on phased rollouts.

February Food Distribution Events There are a number of ongoing food distribution events throughout the City to assist those experiencing hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For dates, times and additional information, visit the Food Assistance page on the City website. Reminder: The Little Free Pantries are open 24/7.

Rooftop Solar Panel Virtual Information SessionThursday, February 4 7 pm Thinking about rooftop solar panels for your home? The Energy Subcommittee of the Shaker Heights Sustainability Committee will be hosting an informational Zoom presentation to support Shaker residents who are interested in going solar. Featured speakers will include Chris Kerr, a Shaker resident who recently installed solar panels on his property, and Tristan Rader, a representative from Solar United Neighbors (a nonprofit solar advocacy group).
Topics will include: - The process of purchasing a rooftop solar system
- Available federal tax credits and other financial incentives
- Long-term energy and cost savings
- How you can save money and receive additional support through the Cuyahoga County Solar Co-op program
- Financial options for homeowners to afford the upfront cost of solar panels

Leading For Equity Virtual Workshops Sundays, February 7 and 14 9 am-12 pm Orientation and Introduction to Power and Privilege Thursday, February 25 5:30-8:30 pm Interpersonal Racism New One Shaker will host a series of virtual equity workshops February 7, 14 and 25. Participants will reflect as individuals and meet in small groups. These free sessions will also include caucusing, in which participants who are of color and those who are white meet separately with a facilitator to discuss issues of race and equity. This workshop is designed for those who want an intensive experience on the dynamics of diversity, understanding power and privilege, defining the four levels of racism, and learning how to lead in our schools and the broader community with an equity lens. The Art of Reading Zoom Book ClubWednesday, February 24 7-8:30 pm Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) announces The Art of Reading Book Club. Come spend a cozy and casual evening discussing an eclectic mix of books with art related storylines, explore the images they showcase and the times they reflect. Read the book in advance or just join for the experience of connecting with fellow art lovers. Margaret Reardon will lead the discussions. Meetings will be held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 pm as a part of Stay-in-Place Productions, the arts council’s response to COVID -19. This program is free and open to everyone. Doan Brook Gorge Stream Sweep Saturday, April 17 12:30-3 pm To celebrate Earth Day, the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership is hosting a cleanup event. Individuals, families, and community groups will have the chance to show the Doan Brook Gorge and Shaker Parklands some love by pulling trash, debris, and invasive vegetation from the stream corridor and surrounding trails and roadways.
Volunteers will meet at the intersection of Fairhill Rd. and E.127th St. along the Lake-to-Lakes Trail. Street parking is available on E.127th and other side streets.
