City to Launch Green Electric Aggregation ProgramAt its July 25 meeting, City Council gave the go ahead for the City to create its own 100 percent renewably sourced electric aggregation program for residents and small businesses. Get Ready for Election DayHelpful reminders for the August 2 primary election: - Early in-person voting is available at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (2925 Euclid Avenue) through Monday, August 1 at 2 pm.
- Vote-by-mail ballot requests must be received by the BOE by THIS Saturday, July 30 at noon; vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than August 1. Voters may drop off vote-by-mail ballots at the BOE until 7:30 pm on August 2.
- Polls will be open on Tuesday, August 2 from 6:30 am-7:30 pm.
- Check polling locations and view a sample ballot at the BOE website.

CERT Seeks Volunteers The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), made up of volunteers who assist the City’s Fire Department during emergencies, will conduct a 10-week training program this fall. Shaker CERT is one of the more than 1,000 CERT teams in the United States, a program sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). RTA: Blue Line Closure July 30-31On Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31 RTA Blue Line rail service will be replaced with 67R buses between Shaker Square and Warrensville-Van Aken stations due to work on the system. Look for 67R bus stops on Van Aken Blvd. across from the Rapid stops. 67R buses will operate every 30 minutes.
