Did you know the average roof generates more than 24,000 gallons of run off a year? Rain barrels let you harvest that water for use in your garden, which saves you money and helps combat storm water pollution. Attendees at this workshop will construct a 60-gallon rain barrel to take home. A barrel, downspout diverter, and all materials are included. Cost: $60 for one barrel; $20 per additional barrel. Location: Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building (3450 Lee Rd.). Registration deadline is October 19 at https://www.cuyahogaswcd.org/events/2018/10/25/shaker-heights-rain-barrel-workshop
