Chill & Toast - Free Outdoor Event Comes to the Van Aken District
Kick Off the Holiday Season with Fireside Festivities Under the Stars on December 1
Dateline: November 13, 2017 - The City of Shaker Heights announces the launch of a signature event series, beginning with Chill & Toast on December 1 from 6 to 9 pm in the heart of its re-imagined downtown.
This not-to-be-missed event, free and open to the public, will feature activities for the entire family – hot chocolate around the bonfire, heated outdoor lounges, outdoor games, craft fun for children, as well as a live band on an outdoor stage. Residents and non-residents alike are welcome to share a toasty beverage and preview retailers’ top gifting selections. Van Aken District restaurants (J. Pistone Market, Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream, Brew at Juma, Swerve Grille, The Pearl Asian Kitchen and Saffron Patch, among others) will serve a special selection from their menus, including cozy winter fare and specialty drinks.
“Chill & Toast will bring residents together to celebrate some of the current retailers as well as some of the future shops coming to the new development in the Van Aken District,” says Mayor Earl M. Leiken. “Due to the popularity of the summer Beer Garden events, we want to continue to offer opportunities to gather with friends and neighbors. We can’t think of a better way to start the holiday season than getting together with a few hundred of our favorite people under the stars.”
